More about the man behind the name…

My name is Euan, pronounced as one would say the “Eu” from the word “Europe” coupled with the article “an”. All together now… Euan!

I am South African born and I am currently residing in the Western Cape, more specifically the beautiful and scenic Knysna.

I am originally from Gqebehra, formerly known as Port Elizabeth. So yes, I am a born-and-bred “PE” boy.

Following the completion of my high school career at Muir College Boys’ High School located in Uitenhage (Kariega), I went on to start my University career at the Nelson Mandela University.

I enrolled for and completed my baccalaureus curationis degree. Just briefly the degree covered the basics of molecular science, physics, biochemistry, pharmacology, human anatomy and physiology, the ethos of nursing and the fundamental aspects of nursing care. The degree also covered specialised training in the fields of psychiatric and community nursing as well as midwifery.

I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to study and become a graduate. Following my community service placement in the province of KwaZulu-Natal, I have found permanency in the Western Cape where I started working as a post anaesthesia care unit nurse, I then went on to become a scrub technician/scrub sister and I now work as an ophthalmic assistant at an ophthalmic practice in Knysna.

I have a beautiful daughter and in September of 2024 I got married to the most amazing woman, who possesses a kindness and a love that cannot be described.

I am interested in topics related to travel, philosophy, finance, medicine, science, history, nutrition, religion, psychology and productivity. In my newly launched blog “Cognition” I will write about discussions related to these topics.
